Florfenicol Powder
【Name of Veterinary Medicine】
Common name: Florfenicol Powder
English name: Florfenicol Powder
Chinese Pinyin: Fubennikao Fen
【 Main ingredients 】 Florfenicol
【 Character 】 This product is a white or almost white powder.
【 Pharmacological effects 】 Pharmacodynamics: Flufenicol belongs to the broad-spectrum antibiotics of the amide alcohol class, and is an antibacterial agent. It exerts its effect by binding with the 50S subunit of the ribosome to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial proteins. It has strong antibacterial activity against various Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Pasteurella hemolyticus, Pasteurella multocida, and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae are highly sensitive to flufenicol. In vitro, the antibacterial activity of flufenicol against many microorganisms is similar to or stronger than that of thiamphenicol, and some bacteria that are resistant to amide alcohols due to acetylation, such as Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae, may still be sensitive to flufenicol.
Mainly used for bacterial diseases caused by sensitive bacteria in pigs, chickens, and fish, such as respiratory diseases caused by Pasteurella hemolyticus, Pasteurella multocida, and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae in cattle and pigs. Salmonella induced typhoid and paratyphoid fever, chicken cholera, chicken dysentery, Escherichia coli disease, etc; Fish bacterial sepsis, enteritis, red skin disease, etc. caused by Pasteurella, Vibrio, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas hydrophila, Enterobacteriaceae, etc.
Pharmacokinetics: Flufenicol is rapidly absorbed by oral administration, and the therapeutic concentration can be reached in the blood after about 1 hour, and the peak blood concentration can be reached within 1-3 hours. The bioavailability reaches over 80%. Flufenicol is widely distributed in animals and can penetrate the blood-brain barrier. Mainly excreted in its original form from the urine, with a small amount excreted in the feces.
